Jesús Hilera
Obra
Jesús Hilera's sculptures represent a unique fusion between nature and technology, where wood, stone or even banknotes are transformed into works of art that defy the limits of perception. Using resin treated to achieve a surprising transparency, the artist creates sculptures that explore the interaction between light, space and material.
Each of Hilera's works is a study in duality: solidity contrasts with the delicacy and luminosity of transparencies. This combination of materials creates a sense of fluidity and movement, as if the sculptures were suspended in time and space.
The transparency of the resin, which fills the voids, reveals the natural patterns and textures of the underlying material, creating a visual connection between the organic and the artificial. This dialogue between the solid and the ethereal invites the viewer to reflect on the changing nature of reality and perception.
Hilera's sculptures also serve as an expression of his source of inspiration: voids. For the artist, these empty spaces represent not only physical absence, but also the opportunity for transformation and creation. By filling these voids with transparent resin, Hilera transforms the negative into a positive, turning what was once a void into a source of light and life.
